Interop is one of the most important trade shows for IT professionals, and I was thrilled to be able to represent Experts Exchange in Vegas. Our booth may have been small, but the reception we received by you, the community, was definitely not.
Many attendees approached us at the show, thanking us for the platform they use every day to make their jobs easier. As the Community Manager, I went to Interop with the intention of welcoming new members and experts into the fold, but I got so much more out of it.
Joined by Brent Hansen, Director of Sales and Marketing and Kristin Mehiel, Director of Strategic Partnerships, we had the privilege of seeing how Experts Exchange impacts the lives of technology professionals, who told us time and time again how we had saved them. After the show on Tuesday, we held a meet and greet with about 30 of our most dedicated members, and we heard the same thing again: that they wouldn’t be able to do their jobs without us.
Of course, I know it’s not us who do the saving — it’s the experts who volunteer their time and share their knowledge in order to help others. They are what drives the site, and we are only as successful as our community.
That’s where you come in. If you work in technology, then you’re already qualified to contribute to our site. Do you know how to code? How to turn a boring website into a work of art? Do you dabble in virtualization? Are you a pro at setting up 3-way SLI? No matter your expertise, or your area of interest, if it’s related to technology then we could use your knowledge on our site.
